Discussion

Remy> the option 1 that means that all NCs are requested to have the capability to access data from WIS2

Enrico> Receiving data from WIS2 can be a small software to connect to the Global Broker and getting data during the the preoperational phase

Weiquing> With this bulletin production concept we don’t need to generate all the bulletins that we have on GTS but only those needed by Centers

Kai> the difficult part is related to the generation of bulletins

Hassan> the bulletin production is a software providing the mapping to GTS data

Kenji> In this case we will have duplication of data in the Global Cache

Remy> One day of GTS data is not more than 50 Gbits, It’s not a problem

Remy> The option 1 means that all NCs shall have a system to receive data from WIS2 which will be a challenge

Enrico> If you take The example of digital satellite TV service, They inform about the deadline to switch to the new services. If you want to continue receiving the service you shall bay the box.

Kai> I propose to replace in option 1 NCs by RTHs

Remy> Also if we consider the list of RTHs, some of them will face problem to provide the gateway services. But I think it’s a in between solution

Weiquing> How these data will be stored in the Global Cache?

Remy>We can add the TTAAii in the topic hierarchy. I think it’s not very complicated, my concern is about the NCs who never hear about WIS2

Kai> I think it’s not good to skep the GTS from day 2

Hassan> We can combine the two option. start with option 2: NCs will publish data on GTS and WIS during the preoperational phase. Then we switch to the option 2

Kenji> This option is good but we need to communicate to RTHs before

Enrico> We planed to have communication with the RTHs

Kai> The only issue is how to do the mapping to GTS from WIS2

Remy> We are sending the data to the packing feature. We can agree on one header for all data from a center to make it simpler

Enrico>When Centers switch to WIS2, they will send a list of headers to to make it easy for the mapping

Remy> Is the transition option using RTH to do the gateway between WIS2 and GTS the proposed option? Agreed

Action>> WMO secretariat to prepare a paper on the transition from GTS to WIS2 and WIS2 to GTS

WIS2 in a box

Enrico> We will have the WIS2 Industry workshop next 22nd of June, We need to frame the project. We have some option features. The WIS2 in a box is the reference for the WIS2 node. We need before the presentation to Industry to have the discussion and decide about the core and option features. We need also to have Tom and Jeremy

Remy> Agree, we can have this discussion at the 13th June meeting

Enrico> 13 June is close to the workshop date and if there is a need to update the release we will not have enough time

Remy> We can have the meeting on 09 of June at 15:30 Geneva time or On 9 June at 16:00

 Action items

Next meeting on 8 June to discuss the WIS2 in a box features
