Discussion of the Zimbabwe project

Enrico: Zimbabwe: PR is not willing to provide the data for free

Johan: data has already exchanged, why not in different format by other ways

Enrico: they can still use wis2box technology to send data to specific customs, not only for free exchange

Action: Johan to set up a meeting with Zimbabwe, Campbell Scientific, WMO Secretariat

Hassan: can the server install the wis2box? (Sibusiso: Yes)

Ioannis: Is the wis2box a central box? (YES)

Enrico: it is only for experiment, we don’t distribute the box to other NMHSs. Some countries are not assured to use the cloud technology.

Malawi update

Francis: we are experiencing the service provider problem last week. It is confirmed that we have enough credit for the data transmission.

Amos: in 2 or 3 weeks, there will be more data available.

Enrico: Malawi demo at INFCOM-2 is still under discussion, depending on the number of the stations that we can get.

Action items

Johan: to set up a meeting with Zimbabwe to discuss the data exchange using wis2box
Xiaoxia: to share with Ioannis and Sibusiso the latest list of stations configured to be connected to WMO FTP server
Xiaoxia: to set up a meeting with Lucy in 2 weeks

  1. To wait for another 2 or 3 weeks to see whether there are more data from Malawi to be the demo at INFCOM-2
