Jeremy

Jeremy presented the Data distribution via Global Cache

Assumption #1

  • (Tom) shared a link (an example of Global model)

  • (Kai) metadata in different formats could be confusing

  • (Baudouin) shared a link for different types of metadata

  • (Jeremy) data consumers know the data without opening files

Assumption #2 Cached-copy and original dataset are not the same dataset

  • (Kai) GDC points to original source if data consumers miss the data from GC (24 hours data). Two scenarioes: real-time data directs to GC; not real-time directs to original data source.

  • (Tom) How to insert the link to data in GDC to direct to GC?

  • (Kai) MQTT to received one from orginal center or GC?

  • (Enrico) Global Cache is different from Global Storage which is another service. We also need to think about the data policy categories. Members will be exchanging data real time, but it doesn’t mean the members are offering long time series data.

  • (Rémy)

  • (Hassan) We should provide data download from Global Cache, not to direct data consumers to original centers (NC/DCPC) which may cause the problems for some NC/DCPC.

Assumption #3 Multiple Global Cache instances

Assumption #4 Temporal extent of each cached copy are identical. This means only one single discovery metadata record is needed to describe all cacd instances

  • (Peter) WIS2 in a box, national channel of local products, to use multi channels is necessary.

  • (Henning) added value for Global Broker? if not, we don’t need GB.
