  1. Fast-track process; proposed updates and target dates

  2. Formalisation of documentation for WIS2 alerting and monitoring - focus on practical information provided in the Guide, with updates to the Manual coming later (noting that as we’re not asking WIS2 Nodes to provide metrics only organisations providing global services and/or sensor centres are impacted)

  3. “Lifecycle” of technical guidance - i.e., what do we publish to the “cookbook”, to the Guide, to the Manual; and when/if we should “promote” technical information from cookbook->Guide->Manual

  1. Fast-track process; proposed updates and target dates

    1. Deadline: Normally two Fast Tracks per year. FT-2025-1: Email to FP in February/June, Approval in May/November

    2. To make sure the GitHub repo (manual/guide/transition guide) is consistent with publications

      1. Summary: GitHub pages built from main branch represents approved (by Fast Track) and stable version

      2. Showing Fast Track branch is not always good (Enrico)

    3. Discussion on Metadata-id in Fast Track (if it can meet FT-2025-1 schedule)

  2.     1. Summary: it is agreed to be a new appendix to WIS2 manual to be approved by INFCOM-4 (2026) and endorsed by EC.

    2. Actions: Global Services operators to review the document and internally approve this doc by autumn this year noting that this doc will be approved by INFCOM-4 and endorsed by EC in 2026 . It is highly recommended for Global Services operators to implement it.

    3. WIS2 manual appendix: can update be approved by Fast Track? (should in WCMP2)

    4. Summary: It is agreed that 3.4 to be implemented as soon as possible, not to wait for two years to implement. Find a solution, such as FT-2025-2, to be an update in existing appendix WCMP2 in WIS2 manual, one additional recommendation of links.

    5. Action: ET-WISMD to review 3.4

    6. Question: is the current wis2 cookbook ready for consumption by the public? (Answer: informal)

  4. GM Dashboard for GISCs

    1. Decision: keep the Global Services test environment alive (do not switch off now)

    1. (Steve)WIS2 Users? (A: Rémy: NWP centres are the first WIS2 users)

    2. To track the users? (Answer: the number of users, the number of downloads, the statistics of the number of downloads)

    3. GM is to keep system operational. If too few users are observers, actions need to be followed – how to engage more users.

    4. (Tom) whose data is cached, it is valuable for data producers to know how the data is used, and how much data is used.

    5. (Rémy) centres publishing data + all NWP centres are using WIS2 data + more users (debatable)

    6. (Rémy) different levels: first level of WIS2 success: to switch to WIS2; 2nd level is: all NWP centres are using WIS2 data.

    7. Agree: to measure the users of WIS2 (not only the volume of data in Global Cache, but also the volume of data downloaded from Global Cache)
