  • SADC consists of 16 members (Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa,  Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe) . now 40 AWSs are supporting 10 members:

  • SADC helds a weekly meeting with 10 SADC members for status update

  • Only South Africa and Malawi have already installed the stations. The supplier is from UK.

  • Malawi has 5 stations.

Action items

  •  SDAC to put Enrico in contact with the company that helps install the AWSs.
  •  SDAC to provide the list of countries and the number of AWSs.
  •  SDAC to arrange a meeting, including WMO Secretariat and the supplier.

Decisions

  1. After the meeting with the supplier, the WMO Secretariat will go country by country to tackle the issues, starting with Malawi. Mozambique follows.

  2. Date of next meeting: March 30 (Tuesday), 8:00 UTC (9:00 UK, 10:00 CET)
